Minutes of Meeting

Board Meeting

The monthly meeting of the Fairwood West Homeowners’ Association Board of Trustees was called to order at 7:00 pm on Thursday July 25th, 2013.  Trustees in attendance were Adrian Ryneveld, Eileen Richards, Christine Sylvia, and Brandy Bradford.  Also in attendance was Barb Simeona, Association Bookkeeper.

Any changes to the outside of your home must have
an approved architectural control form on file
prior to work being done on the home.

Renton Fire Department – No representative present.

Homeowner Appeals – There were no owners in attendance to appeal. 

Community Events – The Annual Garage Sale was good.  There was a lot of traffic.  It was noted that feedback was good from those that participated.

It was stated that “garage sale” signs are not allowed in the common area landscaping and will be pulled out.

There was discussion regarding hiring a company to do the front entryway holiday decorations.  Eileen will look for a company to bid on the project.

Pride-In-Ownership – The Pride In Ownership award was given to Norman Miura who is located at 13560 SE 161st Pl.  A special thank you to Mr. Miura for the hard work and positive example he has displayed.

Adrian nominated a home for future review.

A motion was made, 2nd and approved to allocate $75 to finish out the Pride In Ownership awards for the remainder of the year.

Minutes Of The Previous Meeting – A motion was made, 2nd and approved to accept the June 2013 minutes as amended.

Need change the word Homeowners to Homeowners’.
In the 5th paragraph of the King County section, last sentence add in the word “it” after the word “concrete”.

In the Renton Fire section take out the word “it” in the “he asked” sentence.

Financial Report – Barb Simeona presented the financial report.  It was accepted as presented.

Adrian discussed funding possibilities for the pipeline repair including the potential of a special assessment.

Treasurer’s Report Nothing new to report.

Architectural Control – No new requests.

Common Properties – Eileen noted that King County removed the lock off the fence in the park.  Brandy will replace.

The King County Storm Water Pipe Adoption paperwork was discussed.  Adrian made a motion that was 2nd and approved to have the Association attorney review.

Covenant Enforcement – The Board reviewed the homes in violation and the responses received. 

Wayne of Blood, Sweat and Cheers Landscaping was present.  The maintenance schedule for the next three months was reviewed and he was asked for a bid on clean-up and maintenance of one more abandoned home.  Wayne noted he would send in an estimate.

It was noted that Fairwood Blvd needs to be reviewed.

Christine made a motion that was 2nd and approved that he entire Board complete 2014 CC&R reviews by April 1st so that letters will go out in May. 

It was noted that all parked cars must be licensed.

Renter Enforcement – Nothing new to report.

Unfinished Business – Outstanding action items were reviewed.

New Business – Nothing new.

The meeting adjourned at 8:30 p.m. after a motion was made, 2nd and approved to adjourn.

The next two monthly meetings of the Fairwood West Homeowners’ Association will be held on Thursday August 8th, 2013 and Thursday September 5th, 2013 in the portable building both at 7:00 p.m., at the Nativity Lutheran Church, 17707 140th SE. 

All residents are welcome to attend.
